Why wax matters?
Do you know what type of wax is in your candle and wax melt products? Do certain types of candles give you headaches? It could be the wax the manufacturer is using.
Paraffin wax is a common type of wax used in candles; however, paraffin wax can be harmful to not only the environment but also your health. Paraffin wax is a petroleum by-product that can release toxic fumes when burned, including benzene, toluene, and naphthalene. Paraffin wax is not biodegradable and releases harmful chemicals when burned. Paraffin candles are often cheaper than other types of candles, but they may contain more formaldehyde-generating materials.
Good news though....BC Candles DOES NOT use paraffin wax. Our products are a custom blend of Soy and Beeswax. Each wax provides its own unique benefits but the ultimate benefit is longer burn times and a stronger scent throw.
